Delaware County Community College offers an online library source where students can go to access journal entries, papers, articles, etc. For our research paper, we are recommended to using this source while researching for material. Although it might look complicating, this system is fairly simple.
~Log onto Delagate student website.
~Click on the Learning Commons tab.
~There is a section named Library Resources that can be used to access library sources. In this section, type keyword, title, or author of an article you're searching for into the search box and it will bring you to a page with articles that match what you entered into the search box.
~For my topic of youth gangs in the United States, I typed into the search box "youth gang United States" and that brought up over 200 different articles on the topic.
~Once the list of articles appears, on the left hand side of the screen under the section "Limit To", I check Full Text.
~Of this list, I chose the article that looks like it will be the most beneficial for my research paper. The article I chose was "Understanding and Responding the Youth Gangs" by Lonnie Jackson.
This article will be helpful for me because it has statistics of youth gangs and members from years ago to what the numbers have increased to now.
