I personally like using the website because while I don’t like how what I have to say is out in the open for everyone to read, I do like the feedback and positive criticism I receive. Also, I like being able to style a website to my own personality with quotes and different photographs.
Using a website for an English class isn’t a new experience for me, since I did have to use a weebly website last semester. There are some positives and negatives. As far as technology goes, I hate it. There’s usually always a problem with connection and speed or the website being down for maintenance. On a positive side, it’s a different way to express writings and thoughts that most students don’t get to have a chance to experience while in school. Being in a new age and time, everything relies on technology. There’s facebook, twitter, Instagram, google and without these most people of the college generation wouldn’t know where to go for information. It only makes sense that using a website for an English class to blog our writings would be the next step.

This past week has had its up and downs. I have been doing my best to stay on top of school work while also working a full time job in a busy pharmacy. Working in a pharmacy is stressful enough, but with the included stress of doing well in school so that I can transfer out makes it ten times worse. I definitely applaud those who have gone through this and have come out on top with juggling a work life and school life. This fall semester and upcoming spring semester shouldn't be too awful compared to what's in store for me next fall semester in 2015 when I'll be doing classes, clinicals, homework and work.
Besides from school and work, I also had an eventful week with it being my boyfriend and my one year anniversary and his 25th birthday. That was a fun couple days. Also, I have been trying to find an apartment to move into so I can move out of where I am now. School itself hasn't been too bad yet. My Math class is a little intimidating, but that's just how I am with any type of math work. Psychology is easy so far. My English class isn't like anything I've experienced as far as an English class goes. It's laid back, but I'm sure there will be hard work ahead. English is not all fun and games. I had a hard time choosing which song fits me and my outlook on life for my English Comp class. There are two songs that speak to me and they could both work as a theme song. In the end, I had to choose Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. Besides being one of the best instrumental 80's songs produced, the meaning of the lyrics could not be truer. The main interpretation of this song for me would be the lack of satisfaction of a person's life and that person doing what they must to find excitment.
Working hard to get my fill Everybody wants a thrill Payin' anything to roll the dice just one more time These lyrics can be taken figuratively or literally. Literally being as if someone were to actually be gambling with their money to find a "thrill" in their life. I believe that in everyone's lives at some point, they could find themselves relating to this song. Personally, I'll have phases in my life where I need an adrenaline rush of some sort or something as simple as taking a walk to realize there's meaning in life everywhere you look. |
