This story is about poverty. She is in Mexico, a third world country, and is cut by a broken bottle and sees an older woman with no teeth. She talks about being surrounded by unfortunate situations, but she still had hope for the future.
Waiting
This story is about depression and about repeating. This woman has the same routine every day as a substitute teacher and is not happy with her life. He dad tries to cheer her up, but even with that she still is depressed.
Her foot begins bleeding on the beach, cut by the jagged funnel of a broken bottle. She should have kept her shoes on, but she had spilled a beer all on them and took them off. She shrugs it off and continues walking. The shrieking of the girls nearby hurt her already hurt ears. How could she have a hangover already when it was only 7pm? I guess it doesn’t help that she had been drinking since 11am for the country concert her and her friends were at. Word is that drinking more cures a hangover so she grabs another bottle of Yuengling and heads to the music. Her friend calls her over. They start dancing and before she knows it the concert is over and everyone is saying their goodbyes. Once everyone leaves and she is packed up to go she realizes she had left her keys in the ignition and locked the doors. Now, everyone has left and she has no one to help her. Plus, her phone is dead.
